Our company was established in Lakeland, FL in 1984. Our independent insurance agency was founded as a full service agency committed to providing superior quality insurance products and service to our clients. We endeavor to build long standing relationships with our clients which allows our agency to meet all immediate insurance needs as well as their needs in the future.
From the Owners
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Beth Guskay, President and founding partner of Family Insurance Centers, Inc. Ron Hasten, my father, co-founded our agency with me in 1984. In 2001, my daughter, Amy Myers joined into the business becoming Vice President in 2015. We are truly a family owned and operated business here in Lakeland, FL.
At times, insurance can be confusing and difficult to understand. Realizing this, we seek to serve our customers and their families in the same way that we would expect our family to be serviced. We are happy and proud to take the time to adequately explain coverage, give advice and counsel, and discuss various insurance options with you, our customer, whether it is personal lines or commercial lines. We believe it is vital that we always remember that our primary concern is “our family serving the insurance needs of your family.”
Our Staff
Beth Guskay, Owner/ Agent 2-20
Beth Guskay is the current owner and operator of Family Insurance Centers. As a co-founder in 1984, she has 35 years in the independent agency insurance industry. Throughout her career, Beth has served and consulted on numerous Board of Directors and Agent Forum Symposiums as a Florida agent representative offering her knowledge and expertise to Insurance Companies looking to better their products.
Being an active agency principle, Beth continues to work and service clients on a daily basis resulting in a considerable referral following. It is her personal goal to ensure the agency preserves the personal and family friendly environment that she has built over the years. Additionally, Beth believes is it vital to the success of an agency to maintain an active role in working with her agents to promote an effective and team oriented office.
Beth is a member of the Lakeland Optimist Club and works with the young children of Polk County promoting education. She is an active member of the Lakeland Chamber of Commerce and supports several local charities in the Polk County area.
Beth has been in Lakeland since 1977 and is married to her high school sweetheart John of 34 years. They have a successful son and daughter and 6 grandchildren.
Amy Myers, Owner/ Agent 2-20, 2-15
Amy Myers joined Family Insurance Centers in 2001. As Beth’s daughter, you could say she was “born into the business”. She currently holds her 2-20 and 2-15 to help clients with all of their insurance needs both personal and commercial including financial services. She strives to find the best fit for her clients to always ensure we are meeting and exceeding their expectations.
Amy completed her Associate in Science Degree in Business Administration and Management in 2015 and is currently pursuing her BAS in Supervision and Management. Her goal at Family Insurance Centers is to always work towards the improvement and advancement of the agency and it’s relationships with the carriers and agency partners.
Crystal Furnell, AGENT 2-20, 2-15
Crystal became part of our team in 2012. Having 5+ years in insurance, Crystal has found her calling in the home insurance field. She truly enjoys assisting clients in their insurance purchasing process. She has formed close relationships with realtors, investors, mortgage brokers, and title companies and has an outstanding reputation in her level of service and quality of product selection. Crystal is definitely the “Go-To” for all residential property insurance needs!!
Richelle Cardozo, CSR 4-40
In 2007, Richelle “Mickey” Cardozo brought a new market to our agency providing bilingual service to our customer base. Being fluent in Spanish has broadened our prospects and grow a loyal following. Her knowledge and experience of over 20 years in the personal auto field allows her clients to rely on her expertise. Mickey’s specialty is her ability to relate to all customers on a personal level making them feel like a friend and not just a customer.
Nieta Alford, Agent 2-20
Nieta joined our agency in 2017 and brought with her over 35 years of experience with property and casualty insurance. She specializes in property insurance but is able to assist her customers with almost all of their insurance needs both personal and commercial. Her moto is “I want to be your agent!” as she strives to connect and make lasting relationships with her clients. Nieta has also taken on the role of marketing our agency to local businesses and preferred vendors by seeking out partnerships with the lender, title companies and real estate offices in our surrounding areas.
